Jeuveau®, Dysport®, and Daxxify®: Why Personalized Results Matter More Than Units

By Dr. Bahnmiller

If you’re considering wrinkle relaxers for the first time, it’s natural to hear different product names—or even specific unit numbers—and wonder what you should choose. In reality, there is no universal “best” neuromodulator and no ideal number of units. What matters most is achieving the right result for your face.

At Columbia Shores Regenerative Health, we primarily use Jeuveau®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® because they give us the flexibility to customize treatment based on your anatomy, expression patterns, and long-term aesthetic goals. You may also recognize names like Botox® or Xeomin®, which serve as the original and comparative benchmarks in this category—but modern treatment is far more nuanced than choosing a brand or unit count.

How Neuromodulators Work—and Why Customization Is Essential

All neuromodulators temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to soften expression lines such as the forehead, frown lines between the brows, and crow’s feet. When placed thoughtfully, results look natural, refreshed, and still very much you.

While these products work on the same principle, they differ in:

  • How quickly results appear

  • How precisely or softly the product spreads

  • How long results tend to last

  • Because of these differences, neuromodulator treatment should never be a one-size-fits-all or menu-based decision.

Why We Primarily Use Jeuveau®, Dysport®, and Daxxify®

Rather than asking patients to choose a product or request a certain number of units, we assess your face and select the neuromodulator that best fits your needs.

  • Jeuveau® is often ideal when precision and refined, natural movement are the priority.

  • Dysport® can be advantageous for highly expressive patients or larger areas, offering a softer, smoother look.

  • Daxxify® is selected when longer-lasting results and fewer treatment visits are a priority.
Each of these products excels in different situations. The decision is based on anatomy, muscle strength, balance, and lifestyle—not trend, pricing, or brand familiarity.

Why Results Matter More Than Units

It’s common for patients to hear phrases like “I get 20 units” or “my friend only needed 12 units,” but unit counts alone are not meaningful—and often misleading.

That’s because:

  • Units are not interchangeable between products. A unit of Jeuveau, Dysport, Daxxify, Botox, or Xeomin does not equal a unit of another.

  • Muscle strength varies significantly. Stronger muscles require different dosing than weaker ones.

  • Placement matters more than quantity. Small, strategically placed doses produce better results than higher doses placed incorrectly.

  • Over-treatment is far more noticeable than under-treatment. Especially for first-time patients, conservative dosing protects natural expression.

Our focus is never on “how many units” you receive—it’s on how your face moves, how the treatment settles, and how natural the final result appears.

Why We Don’t Ask Patients to Self-Select Products or Units

Neuromodulator treatment isn’t something that can be safely or effectively ordered off a menu. Every face has unique anatomy, symmetry, and expression patterns, and dosing decisions must account for all of these factors.

For this reason, we guide both product selection and dosing for you—using Jeuveau, Dysport, or Daxxify as our primary tools—to ensure results that are balanced, natural, and tailored specifically to you.

This physician-led approach minimizes the risk of overcorrection, asymmetry, or an unnatural appearance and ensures results that still look like you.

Where Do Botox® and Xeomin® Fit In?

Botox® is the original neuromodulator and remains the reference standard everything else is measured against. Xeomin® offers a simplified formulation that may be appropriate in select clinical situations.

We include both in discussions for education and comparison, but our practice focuses on modern neuromodulators that provide greater flexibility for individualized treatment.

A Final Word from Dr. Bahnmiller

My goal—especially for first-time patients—is never to freeze your face or chase trends. It’s to help you look refreshed, confident, and authentically yourself.

By prioritizing results over units, and by primarily using Jeuveau, Dysport, and Daxxify, we’re able to design treatments that are thoughtful, conservative, and tailored to your unique facial anatomy—not a formula.

If you’re curious, cautious, or ready to explore wrinkle relaxers, we’re here to guide you safely and intentionally—one expression at a time.
